ABOUT︎
Ciaociao Design, founded in 2019 by artist and award-winning Chartered Landscape Architect Chao, injects a unique brand of playful energy into public spaces. Originally from Nanjing, China, Chao brings over a decade of London experience to the table, having spearheaded high-profile projects like the British Library extension and the transformation of Museum Street.
Ciaociao Design transcends traditional landscape architecture, focusing on the creation of thought-provoking art installations. These installations are not merely aesthetic; they're playful and surprising, designed to spark curiosity and celebrate the rich cultural tapestry of a city. We believe public spaces should be vibrant and engaging, fostering a sense of discovery and inviting exploration.
What makes Ciaociao Design distinct?
- Collaborative Heart: We thrive in collaborative environments, working hand-in-hand with private clients, local authorities, and the community to ensure our creations resonate with everyone who experiences them.
- Cultural Catalyst: Our core philosophy celebrates the diverse voices and histories that weave the unique identity of a place. Through our installations, we aim to uncover these hidden stories and bring them to life for all to discover.
- Sustainable Artistry: We prioritise the use of eco-friendly materials in our creations. However, sustainability doesn't have to be bland! We incorporate vibrant colours and artistic expression to breathe life into public spaces, ensuring they are both beautiful and responsible.
